In recent meetings, the board of trustees has approved several price increases, including new tiered rates for water and wastewater, recommended by the Oklahoma Rural Water Association after a thorough rate study.
We at Hardesty City Hall understand that many people will have objections to the increases reflected on the bills sent out on December 30. We apologize that these increases were not spread out over the years since 2019 as they should have been.
The Trash charge has gone up to match the price increase from Seward County Waste Management.
The Water charge is now a tiered rate, where each unit of water (1000 gallons) will cost 25 cents more than the previous unit up to 10 units.
The Sewer charge is now a tiered rate, where each unit of water will cost 10 cents more than the previous unit up to 10 units.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Concerns submitted in writing will be presented to the board of trustees at a future meeting.
