11:00 am on March 28th, 2020, a positive COVID-19 test was confirmed
in Texas County. The Town of Hardesty must comply with the preventative measures
mandated by Oklahoma Governor Stitt for affected counties.
- The “Safer At Home” order was issued for all adults of 65 years of age and older and individuals with serious underlying medical conditions. These populations are still allowed to go to grocery stores, pharmacies, and still run life-sustaining errands. This order is in effect until April 30th;
- Gatherings of 10 (ten) or more people are prohibited. Businesses in a critical infrastructure sector shall take all reasonable steps to comply with this order;
- Prohibited visitations to nursing homes and long-term care facilities are mandated; and
- Postponement of all elective surgeries, minor medical procedures, and non-emergency dental procedures until April 7th.
Now that a positive case has been determined for Texas County, the following mandates will go into effect at 11:59 pm on March 29, 2020 and will remain in place until 11:59 pm on April 15, 2020, unless additional mandates are issued.
- All restaurants and vendors of prepared foods are required to close all dine-in services. Take-out and delivery options are still viable.
- All businesses not identified as being within a critical infrastructure sector, such as gyms, salons, massage parlors, and movie theaters are required to close. In
addition, the Town of Hardesty strongly encourages:
- Citizens to adhere to social distancing
practices of at least 6 (six) feet physical distance between persons.
- Faith-based services to not hold a
physical service open to the public.
